From a prompt to a published site: building Road Ledger and Robot Actuator 3D

Start with a description

A Caspian project starts as a plain description of what you want. For Robot Actuator 3D, that was a detailed brief: a realistic actuator, an assembled-to-exploded slider, and every internal part labelled. For Road Ledger, it was the job of a private road association’s treasurer.

Caspian plans the build from the description itself: it splits the work into the project’s real parts and sizes the steps to the model, building in one pass when the whole thing fits.

Refine it with Copilot

Once a project exists, you change it by asking Copilot beside it. Copilot answers questions about the project, and for a change it says exactly what it will do and waits for you to confirm before building. Every change becomes a new version you can accept, reject, or go back from.

Pages, accounts and private data

Road Ledger needed more than one screen and more than one kind of user. With User registration on, a project can have several pages, sign-in, and pages only signed-in people can open.

Because every association is separate, Road Ledger uses spaces: each treasurer creates one for their association, with a ledger only its treasurers see, a page for owners, and each owner’s own record. The accounts made while trying it out in Caspian stay in two-way sync with the live site.

Publish, and get found

Publishing puts a project on its own address — road-ledger.sites.caspian.md, robot-actuator-3d.sites.caspian.md — and, with a category, into the Explore gallery: Road Ledger under Everyday Apps, the actuator under Education.

Every published project also gets privacy-friendly analytics — visitors, pages and where they came from — with no cookies.
